1978 Seiko Actus SilverWave JDM 6306-8010
THE WATCH
This beautiful and rare Japan market only 1978 Seiko Actus SilverWave is simply stunning in the metal. This blue dial variant is among the rarest of the SilverWave 6306-8000 and 6306-8010 models. In all original condition with the correct and rare original Seiko Actus bracelet. The case and bracelet are stainless steel and in excellent condition with a few small nicks and scratches for its age. The bracelet has minimal stretch and will fit wrists up to 7.75 inches. The oval cushion like case wears extremely comfortable on the wrist and has a great size for a vintage watch with a modern diameter of 38mm. It contains Seiko's famous four o'clock position screw down crown which is appropriate for this model being one of Seiko's first water resistant watches. The dial is the real star of the show with a unique cornflower blue carbon pattern that separates it from the other 6306-8000 models. The dial is in excellent and almost perfect condition with no visible signs aging or patina. It is a non-luminous dial and contains applied indices with white paint in the center of the hands and hour markers. The day/date window is framed and contains both Kanji and English days of the week. The watch has a mineral crystal in excellent scratch free condition and is powered by a Seiko 6306 automatic 21 jewel movement.

THOUGHTS
In my opinion some of the most underrated vintage watches out there are the Seiko SilverWave series. As one of Seiko's first water resistant watch models, these SilverWave variants make for a fantastic everyday vintage wear. They come in a modern size, are robust, beautiful, and offer incredible value. This special blue carbon dial variant is the rarest and as a JDM model it is becoming extremely harder to find in this condition and with the original actus bracelet. The way the blue dial and indices plays with the light you would think it is at Grand Seiko level but for a tenth of the price. In mint condition, this watch will serve you well as your first vintage timepiece or if your a serious Seiko collector, this one is a must have in your collection. We don't get this rare blue dial variant come through our hands very often, so jump on it as it won't be in our shop for long!
