THE WATCH
This vintage 1980's Seiko 5 ref 7009-876A comes with a really cool roman day wheel that adds to it's unique character. The watch features a slight tourneau style stainless steel case design with short flat lugs that barely come out from the case itself. Due to the almost non existent lugs, this integrates straps really well. There is a small push/pull crown that is recessed into the case at four o'clock. The watch features an attractive bullseye like dial with gilt strips in the center of the dial and hour markers encompassing the outer track. The watch has an applied twelve oclock marker in gold that stands out when looking at the dial and applied Seiko logo. The dial is in great condition for its age and contains luminous hour markers and hands. The in gilt and outer ring containing the hour markers. coolThis beautiful and rare vintage Fortis features a special striped linen dial with texture. It contains a Fortis manually wound 17 jewel movement. It has a unique squared gilded finished case with a case thickness of only 7.5mm! The watch is super thin even for a manually wound movement. The brand new strap is a vintage burgundy genuine leather by Hadley Roma. Dated to the 1970s era, it is in good overall vintage condition with some wear to the caseback near one of the lugs as seen in the photo. The dial is in good shape with some slight oxidation around a few of the indices and light even patina on the texted dial. The acrylic crystal is in overall good shape with no major scratches. Overall the watch is in good vintage condition for it's age. Suitable for both formal and casual occasions, this vintage Fortis a great value piece.

THOUGHTS
I still believe Fortis is one of those underappreciated brands that have some real hidden gems. Vintage Fortis brings some of the best value for money and would make a great starter piece for someone just getting into vintage watches. This one here has a unique gilded squared off case and razor thin movement with a case thickness clocking in under 8mm! This would make a great dress watch fitting easily under any cuff. The standout feature however, is that gilded textured dial. With a linen dial look, the texture of the lines have such depth that they almost look hand etched. I wouldn't sleep on this one, it won't be around for long!
