THE WATCH
Seiko introduced the prestigious Credor line to showcase ultra high end Japanese artistry and haute horology. During the height of the 1980's quartz revolution, Credor focused on ultra-thin, precious material dress pieces to complete directly with Swiss luxury giants. This specific reference utilizes Seiko's elite Caliber 6730 quartz movement and sits at only 3.6mm thin. The Caliber 6730 is a highly jeweled engineering marvel built specifically to allow high-end luxury dress watches to achieve an incredibly slender profile without sacrificing accuracy. This watch features the rare and highly desirable green/grey dial and a solid 14k yellow gold outer bezel, along with it's original strap and buckle.

THOUGHTS
Seeing this watch in the metal emphasizes why the Seiko Credor 6730-5090 represents the absolute pinnacle of "quiet luxury" from 1980's Japan. The fine vertical tapestry of the center dial with its green/grey color catches the light beautifully shifting from deep greens to muted greys depending on the surroundings. The dial perfectly complements the 14k yellow gold fluted bezel. While many tank style watches look flat on the wrist, this model incorporates an incredibly hard SHA mid-case that keeps its razor sharp geometric lines perfectly intact over decades of wear. What makes this specific reference such a true collector's piece is the rarity of it's configuration; finding a textured green/grey dial variation is hard enough, but securing one with its ultra clean 14k gold bezel in this condition is amazing. The watch also comes with it's rare original strap and buckle. This is the kind of dressy piece that slips under a dress cuff with ease at only 3.6mm which is astonishing even at today's watch standards. The piece delivers masterclass in understated elegance and showcases some of the best of what Japan has to offer.
